Mobile Clutch Repair Colchester is a mobile clutch repair and clutch replacement business operating across Colchester and the surrounding Essex area. We are the data controller for the information described on this page, which means we are responsible for looking after it.

We only collect what we need in order to quote for your job and get back to you. When you fill in the quote form on our website, we receive:

• Your name and phone number, so we can call you back with a price.
• Your email address, if you choose to give one. This field is optional.
• Your vehicle registration, if you give it. We use it to look up the correct clutch kit for your car so the quote is accurate.
• A description of the fault you are experiencing, so we know what we are coming out to.

If you call or text us instead, we will hold your phone number and whatever you tell us about the job in the normal course of running the business. We do not record phone calls.

We do not ask for and do not want any special category data, and we never ask for card or bank details through this website. Payment is taken directly, in person, once the work is finished.

We use your details for one purpose: to respond to your enquiry, quote for the work, arrange a visit and carry out the repair. We do not use them for anything else.

Our lawful basis under UK GDPR is legitimate interests where you have contacted us asking for a quote, and performance of a contract once you have booked work in with us. Where we keep a record for tax or warranty purposes, our basis is legal obligation.

We do not send marketing emails, we do not run a mailing list, and we will not add you to one. If we ever wanted to, we would ask your permission first.

We never sell your information, to anybody, for any reason. We do not share it with marketing companies, lead generators or data brokers.

A small number of service providers necessarily handle your data in order for our website and email to work at all:

• Resend delivers the quote form submission to our email inbox.
• Vercel hosts this website and provides basic, aggregated traffic analytics. These analytics count page visits and do not identify you personally.
• Our email provider stores the enquiry in our inbox so we can read and reply to it.

We may also pass your vehicle registration to a parts supplier in order to order the correct clutch kit for your car. We share nothing else with them, and never your contact details.

If we were ever legally required to disclose information, for example to HMRC or in response to a court order, we would comply.

This site does not use advertising cookies and does not track you around the internet. We do not run Facebook or Google advertising pixels on it.

The only measurement in place is Vercel Analytics, which counts page views and general information such as the country and device type of a visit. It does not build a profile of you and does not follow you to other websites.

If you enquire and we never end up doing the work, we delete the enquiry within 12 months.

If we do carry out work for you, we keep a record of the job for 6 years. That is because we have to keep business records for tax purposes, and because it lets us honour the 12 month parts and labour warranty and look up what we fitted if you come back to us.

Enquiries are sent over an encrypted connection and stored in a password protected email account. We keep the number of people who can see your details to the smallest possible, which for a business of our size means the owner and the technician doing your job.

We are a small mobile operation rather than a large company, so we deliberately hold as little information as possible. The best protection for your data is us not collecting it in the first place.

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

• Ask what information we hold about you, and get a copy of it.
• Have anything inaccurate corrected.
• Ask us to delete it, where we are not legally required to keep it.
• Object to us using it, or ask us to restrict how we use it.
• Withdraw consent at any time, where we relied on consent.

To do any of these, just call us on 07427 816536 or email ogautosservices@yahoo.com and say what you want. There is no form to fill in and it costs you nothing. We will deal with it within one month, and in practice usually the same week.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put it right first.

Our service is aimed at vehicle owners and we do not knowingly collect information about anybody under 18. If you believe we have, tell us and we will delete it.
